Understanding Image Virality
Virality of online content on social networking websites is an important but
esoteric phenomenon often studied in fields like marketing, psychology and data
mining. In this paper we study viral images from a computer vision perspective.
We introduce three new image datasets from Reddit, and define a virality score
using Reddit metadata. We train classifiers with state-of-the-art image
features to predict virality of individual images, relative virality in pairs
of images, and the dominant topic of a viral image. We also compare machine
performance to human performance on these tasks. We find that computers perform
poorly with low level features, and high level information is critical for
predicting virality. We encode semantic information through relative
attributes. We identify the 5 key visual attributes that correlate with
virality. We create an attribute-based characterization of images that can
predict relative virality with 68.10% accuracy (SVM+Deep Relative Attributes)
-- better than humans at 60.12%. Finally, we study how human prediction of
image virality varies with different `contexts' in which the images are viewed,
such as the influence of neighbouring images, images recently viewed, as well
as the image title or caption. This work is a first step in understanding the
complex but important phenomenon of image virality. Our datasets and
annotations will be made publicly available.Comment: Pre-print, IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition

Peripheral Representations: from Perception to Visual Search
The human visual field is composed of a high acuity region at the center of gaze called the fovea, andits complement, the visual periphery. Not much is known about the computations and representationsof the visual periphery, as most of the focus in the field of human (and machine) vision is geared towardsfoveal vision. Thus, the focus of this thesis will be on understanding the computations performed bythe human visual system in the visual periphery. In doing so, I will begin by modelling the perceptionof clutter and how it changes as a function of the behavioural task and point of fixation, developinga collection of foveated clutter models that enhance non-foveated models. I will then propose a newmetamer model that renders how the information is distorted in the visual field, and what this tells usabout the computations done in the visual periphery. Finally, I will conclude with the design of twohybrid man-machine collaborative visual search systems that try to overcome the limitations in humanvisual search imposed by the visual periphery and observer inefficiencies in terminating exploration
Los grupos farmacol贸gicos m谩s frecuentes: antihipertensivos, 31%; antibi贸ticos, 18,4% y analg茅sicos opi谩ceos, 18%. Sistema afectado: piel, 35%; respiratorio, 23%; gastrointestinal, 18% y sistema nerviosocentral, 9%.
As铆 mismo se plante贸
Trujillo - 2021
Aplicativo m贸vil culture up
El valor del proyecto es de S/ 1,252,819.49.For the present research work, two problems were detected in the Lima juncture. In first place, companies organizing cultural events have little influx due to inefficient dissemination of their events. On the other hand, it is difficult to find cultural offer in Lima. To solve these problems, the research team has proposed the development of an application through which organizers can disseminate their events and sell tickets in the same application; and where users can find all the cultural offer that Lima offers through a map that allows them to see in real time what is happening around them.
For the development of the work, an endless number of experiments were carried out with users and clients that allowed adequate projections, as well as strategic, operational, marketing, human resources, social and financial responsibility plans according to market needs. The quantitative analysis of the research concludes in the need to invest S /. 44,350.75 soles to obtain S /. 26,207.20 as net income the first year, S /. 197,488.59 in the second year and S /. 609,430.36 in the third year.
